Fitzpatrick was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1994. He is a pianist, composer, producer, band leader and musical director. As a self taught pianist, he started playing keyboard in church at age 4 under the direction of his father, Pastor Miles Fitzpatrick. For many years, this was his primary form of musical education. Although Gospel music was a large influence, Fitzpatrick grew up listening to music from many different genres and artist. Inspirations include Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, Chick Correa, Herbie Hancock, Earth Wind and Fire, Snarky Puppy, and Robert Glasper, just to name a few. Fitzpatrick absorbed the language of the music by listening and playing. Eventually he developed a sound and style of his own sparking his love for jazz and fusion.

Fitzpatrick started the West Michigan based contemporary instrumental jazz fusion band “Minor Element” in 2012. Minor Element ,strongly resembling sounds from “Snarky Puppy”, grew into a 9 piece fusion band with a wide array of instrumentation. They played from 2012-2024. Under Fitzpatrick’s leadership, Minor Element played at many Michigan jazz festivals, collaborated with the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra, and even showcased at NAMM in 2023. In addition to his fusion band, he has also led as the Musical Director and Producer for R&B artist S!MONE, Hip Hop artist The Allah, and Contemporary Christian music artist, Robert Hawkins. He also serves as a minister of music at Stones Church in Kalamazoo Michigan. Fitzpatrick has opened up for Ghost Face Killah, The Yin Yang Twins, Tweet, Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers, Kamasi Washington and many more.

Pivoting into a new era of creativity, Fitzpatrick embarks on his solo career. Utilizing an array of styles, (ranging from jazz, hip-hop, and classical), he unveils a new world of Jazz Fusion highlighting his keyboard prowess and creative arranging skills. Playing alongside drummer Anthony Tyler, Keyboardist Aris Chalin, and Bassist Khalin Diggins, he’s proud to present Brandon Fitzpatrick and The Element.
